Apple Releases iOS 6.1.1 For iPhone 4S, Other Devices To Follow
After repeated reports of shoddy battery life and 3G difficulties on the iPhone 4S, Apple has released the iOS 6.1.1 update to the general public. The update is exclusively for the iPhone 4S and is not being pushed to newer or older iPhone, iPad or iPod models. iPhone 4S users can expect the update to fix 3G issues that were causing problems with corporate Microsoft Exchange servers. iOS 6.1 was also giving some iPhone 4S users battery issues, though we're not sure if that issue was addressed in the ... more

Pepper Spray Your Assailant With This iPhone Case
iPhone cases and self-defense seem to be going hand-in-hand these days. It was just last summer that we reported on an iPhone case with a built-in stun gun, but if that was a bit too gruesome for you, you can always try pepper spray. A company under the name of Spraytect has recently launched an iPhone case with a built-in can of pepper spray. Spraying someone with the Spraytect case is pretty simple: just undo the safety and spray away. However, the safety process is quite extensive as it requires ... more

Video: Side-By-Side Speed Comparison Between The iPhone 4S And iPhone 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=afOhPspYC6M We know that the iPhone 5 is substantially quicker than the iPhone 4S when it comes to load times and performance. Strictly based on the components alone, the iPhone 5 with its A6 chipset is substantially quicker than its predecessor. Thing is, numbers are all fine and dandy, but putting performance into perspective is a lot more difficult to do when just looking at specifications and numbers. In the video above you'll see just how much quicker than the iPhone 5 is than the iPhone 4S. Coming from an iPhone 4S, ... more

Tip: How To Fix Apple iOS 6 Wi-Fi And Bluetooth Connectivity Issues On iPhone Or iPad
Usually when you upgrade the software on your device, you expect it to work better. Unfortunately for some iPhone 4S and iPad users, they've been experiencing issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity after downloading iOS 6. AppleInsider's Mikey Campbell was tipped off to this when he came across a 91-page thread on Apple's Support Communities webpage. [quote]Forum members report that after upgrading to iOS 6, both the legacy iPhone 4S and new iPad are experiencing disabled Wi-Fi connectivity that leaves the option to connect "grayed out." The issue ... more

iPhone 4S Hacked At Pwn2Own, Can View Photos And Other Content Via Webkit Exploit
While iOS is a pretty secure mobile operating system, some kinks can always appear. At this year's Pwn2Own event, two hackers earned a pretty $30,000 after finding an exploit. Joost Pol and Daan Keuper found a WebKit exploit on a fully updated iPhone 4S that gave them unauthorized access to photos, contact information and other info. The hackers spent three weeks working with this exploit and found that the hack still works with iOS 6. The pair has confirmed that their exploit will not allow them to view SMS messages ... more

AT&T CEO Responds To Rumored FaceTime Over Cellular Charges
Earlier today, it was discovered that AT&T may be planning on charging to use the new "FaceTime over cellular" feature in iOS 6. This discovery was obviously no surprise, but it seems that AT&T CEO, Randall Stephenson, has something to say about the "rumor." While attending the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference in Aspen, Stephenson was asked about the "rumor" and cleverly said it's “too early to talk about pricing.” This is obviously a smart way of avoiding the question.  It wouldn't necessarily be a shocker if AT&T decides to ... more

Siri Gets New Smartass Answers To "Best Smartphone Ever" Question
Siri will no longer tell you that the best smartphone on the market is a Nokia Lumia 900 when asked "What's the best smartphone ever?" Apple has updated the Siri response for the query, and now provides answers like "you're kidding, right?" and "The One You're Holding." Previously the results that were returned were from a WolframAlpha query that would return the "best smartphone" results based on the average consumer score for the handset. It's nice to see the team at Apple having fun with the search queries. There's no ... more

Apple Replacing Some Broken iPhone 4 Devices With iPhone 4S Models
If you take your busted iPhone 4 in to get fixed, you may find yourself walking out of the Apple store with an iPhone 4S instead of a fixed iPhone 4. No, you don't need more coffee. I just told you that you could get a free upgrade. Put the pot down and read on. Due to supply constraints with the black iPhone 4 – they must be selling like wildfire – Apple has begun swapping out iPhone 4 models for the iPhone 4S version. From the 9 to 5 Mac ... more

Walmart Mistakenly Discounts iPhone 4 And 4S
If you wanted to grab yourself an iPhone 4 or 4S and you thought news of Walmart's recent price drop was gonna be your lucky ticket, you'll be sorry to hear that it was just a mistake. Reports of the 8 GB iPhone 4 falling from $88 USD to $34 USD and the 16 GB iPhone 4S from $188 USD to $114 USD may have been accurate, but Walmart has issued a statement claiming the deals were “a pricing error in limited stores." 9to5Mac has a bit more to say about ... more
