Handbrake, the popular multi-platform transcoding tool, has officially released version 0.9.3 to the public today. New in this version is the ability to transcode other sources of video besides DVDs. On the flip side, there is no longer any more built-in DVD decryption. While this may seem like bad news to users on the surface, it isn't really that bad. If you're a Mac user, and you install VLC in your applications folder, it will transparently use VLC's decrypting engine. Cool, huh?

iTunes has hit 8.0.2 today, and it finally addresses some accessibility issues, and also improves VoiceOver. It comes on the heels of the iPhone/Touch firmware upgrade 2.2. Looks like Psystar will soon be going out of business. Today, Judge William Alsup dismissed Psystar’s lawsuit claiming that Apple was unfairly being a monopoly by only allowing OS X to be installed on Apple machines and not allowing clones.
