Toy Makers Giving Up, Kids Want Apple, Apple, Apple, And … Apple For The Holidays

Years ago, kids wanted full-sized game consoles for holiday gifts, and now not so much. According to a recent poll by Nielsen Wire, more and more kids are hoping for an iPad or iPhone for Christmas this year. In fact, 48 percent of kids aged 6-12 polled said that they wanted a full-sized iPad while 36 percent said they wanted an iPad mini. The iPhone and iPod touch also scored towards the top of the list achieving 33 percent and 36 percent respectively.

Unsurprisingly, the Wii U still took second place scoring 39 percent of votes. It looks like some kids want a gaming console after all.

People polled who were over the age of 13 still wanted the full-sized iPad, though not nearly as much as their younger counterparts. Approximately 21 percent of the kids polled wanted a full-sized iPad while only 11 percent wanted an iPad mini. It’s worth noting that more adults preferred Android and Microsoft tablets to the iPad than last year, though the iPad still took first place. Unfortunately for Apple, the Apple TV still scored relatively low on both lists raking in only 4 percent of Children’s votes and 2 percent of adult votes.

It’s Apple’s world, and the rest of us are just living in it at this point.
