Speed up your iPhone 3G running iOS 4

We all know that the iPhone 3G is quite a slug when it’s running iOS 4.x. If you’re still using that model, you probably want to use the cool new iOS 4-only apps, but you hate the speed issues. Well, Boy Genius Report has an article detailing how you can speed up your phone.

If you halt Spotlight from indexing your phone, you should see a substantial speed increase. To accomplish this, launch the Settings app, and then go to “General.” From there, go to the “Home Button” section, and find “Spotlight Search.” Now go through and turn of everything, and now your device will become more responsive. Pretty sweet, huh?

If you have any tips along these lines for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or Mac OS X, please leave a comment on this post. Alternately, you can e-mail me or hit me up on Twitter.
