Entire Vectrex Catalog Coming To iPad

Hey! Remember the Vectrex?! Well, many of us are too young for it to have been a mainstay in our lives, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t beloved among gamers. Well, Blake Peterson, reporting for Touch Arcade, has some good news for us: “Rantmedia Games will soon be releasing Vectrex Regeneration, a universal Vectrex emulator that comes bundled with the entire original game library — nearly 30 titles. Beyond this, a number of feature packs will be available as in-app-purchases to enable extended functionality.” Great news for old fogies with nostalgia or retro gamers with a passion for variety.

Vectrex Regeneration will be launching on both iPhone and iPad in the near future, and it will feature both AirPlay and Game Center support. Not only that, but it will also be extended with in-app purchases that will make this emulator much better than the original Vectrex ever was. Multiplayer gaming, iCade support, user-made games, and autofire will all be added thanks to the modern miracle that is DLC in-app purchases. If you can’t wait for news of the release, be the first to know by following the developer on Twitter.

So, are you excited to play all of these fancy-pants classic vector games? Let us know which game you’re excited to try out by leaving a comment below this post. Have you ever even played on a real Vectrex? I haven’t, so I’m excited to get a full-fledged and supported emulator experience.
