Catch up on last week’s news over this morning’s breakfast

Still reeling from the ebooks lawsuit, Apple spent a lot of this week doing legal work dealing with the case. Apple decided to make a stand with publishers arguing that the DOJ was about to force the publishing industry to cede control to Amazon. Which was then responded to by the DOJ as further collusion. Tim Cook got an invitation to the White House last week, as President Obama is trying to get the industry involved in discussion about digital privacy in the wake of the PRISM scandal. It wasn’t all serious and grim news this week, as iTunes was found to be people’s favorite video streaming platform. Developers also received an updated version of the iOS 7 beta.
