Way back when Apple first introduced the newly styled MacBook Air, Steve Jobs stood on stage and pretty much declared publicly that the entire MacBook lineup would eventually look like the MacBook Air, calling it the future of notebooks. Today, rumors have begun circulating that Apple is currently working on an “ultra-thin 15-inch Mac Notebook.” Apparently the device is currently in late testing phases at Apple, and could be released sometime in the near future.
MacRumors is quick to point out that they are unaware if this is a MacBook Pro, or another addition to the MacBook Air lineup. It’s worth noting that with the updated MacBook Airs last week, the original white MacBook disappeared entirely from Apple’s website. That means there could be a void to be filled, and a 15-inch, ultra-thin laptop could slot in nicely between the MacBook Air and the current MacBook Pro lineup.
Thoughts on a thin MacBook Pro
Heck, I don’t know too many people that would complain about getting ultra-thin MacBook Pros either, so no matter what, a 15-inch model sounds like the almost perfect Mac product for users needing more screen real estate.
What do you think? White MacBook replacement, or an endeavor into the MacBook Pro lineup? Either way, it’s win-win if you ask me. Let us know in the comments.
