Stop worrying about that new Mac shipment with Delivery Status.

I’m not a dashboard fan at all.  It’s overkill, and it certainly eats up way too many system resources for what it does.  I was originally going to write a post about the items I have in my dashboard, but I’ve literally got three, and two of them are alternate clocks.  I’d love to hear what widgets others are using. Maybe I’ve missed some great ones.  There is one I couldn’t live without though, and it’s Delivery Status.  It’s probably the single most useful dashboard widget in my arsenal (although, we established that my arsenal is worse than the french…. hey oh!).

The dashboard widget lets you track your packages from a multitude of sources, Adobe, Amazon, Apple, Canada Post, DHL, FedEx, UPS, just to name a few.

This thing is phenomenal.  It’s integrated with Growl, and gives you notices as your packages update.  It makes waiting for that new MacBook a little bit easier, when you know it’s still sitting in Alaska or Memphis, you know what I’m talking about!

Wanna take this whole idea one step further?  It’s available for the iPhone as well, it’s not free, but 2.99 for some peace of mind might be worth it for you crazy Apple enthusiasts.  God knows I constantly refresh DHL’s website every time I have new Apple gear on the way.
