If you frequently play games on iOS, you might have noticed that iOS 7’s new Control Center feature can get in the way when it comes to certain swipe centric games like Fruit Ninja. One second you’re swiping fruit, the next you’re accidentally putting your phone into Airplane Mode. Fortunately, there’s an easy solution.
Simply go into Settings on your iPhone or iPad and then go to Control Center settings. Here, you can switch off the “Access Within Apps” toggle, which disables Control Center from being accessed whenever you’re in an app. This way, if you’re in the middle of a game, Control Center will never unintentionally be pulled up. You can, however, still continue to use Control Center from your device’s main menus.
One downside to this is that you won’t be able to use Control Center in apps like Safari or Chrome either, which could be annoying. The best solution is probably to just switch off the toggle whenever you’re playing a frantic game like Fruit Ninja, and to then toggle it back on when you’re done playing.
Remember, you can also choose whether you want to enable or disable access to Control Center for when you’re phone is locked in the same settings menu.
