Recommended Read: Did you know that Apple has another, less popular, Backup app?

One of the first things I noticed when I purchased MobileMe for the first time a couple of months ago was that Apple has a nifty little application called Backup. Having never purchased MobileMe in the past, I was completely surprised by its availability—no one ever talks about Backup.

I haven’t had much time to take it for a spin – I already have a crazy backup scheme – but it’s been on my list of things to review for a while now.

Turns out Dave Caolo over at 52 Tiger has beat me to it, and he’s put together a nifty review of the application. Instead of writing it up ourselves, we thought we’d direct you to his website  to check it out.

While you’re probably a little confused right now, considering Apple also has Time Machine built into OS X, Backup is Apple’s other backup application. It’s often forgotten since it hides behind the MobileMe pay wall.

For those uninitiated into Dave’s work, he’s a big part of the TUAW team, and 52 Tiger is his personal blog. We highly recommend that you subscribe to his feed.

Go check out the review. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the power of Backup.
