Three Foxconn employees charged in China for leaking iPad 2 info

Leading up to the iPad 2 release there were a ton of leaks from China. Some were obviously illegitimate, but others clearly came directly from Foxconn. According to a report in DigiTimes police have charged three Foxconn employees with leaking iPad 2 designs to accessory companies in China.

There wasn’t much information on what charges were laid, or what the penalty may be, outside of the fact that they are charged with leaking “trade secrets.” According to the report, a number of companies in China were able to manufacture cases for the iPad 2 prior to its announcement because of the leak.

There’s also been no mention of whether or not the employees charged with the leak were financially rewarded for leaking the information.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this story as it develops further, so keep your eyes open for updates.
