iOS 5.1 will let you delete images from your Photo Stream

Apple has released an iOS 5.1 update to developers today. Amongst the many bug fixes and updates, a major new addition to iOS has been unveiled: Users can now manually manage their Photo Stream.

Up until this point Photo Stream has been an all or nothing service. Users could either share all of their photos across the Photo Stream, or none of them. For some that wouldn’t be a problem, but for others, like those who review applications for a living, having a Photo Stream full of app screenshots defeats the purpose of the technology. App reviewers are one thing, but what about those of you who have a need to sext people? Problematic, indeed.

iOS 5.1 doesn’t have a scheduled release date yet, but if you’re a developer, and you don’t mind running beta software, you can update your iOS devices right away.
