You can now get ESRB game ratings on your iPhone

If you’re a responsible parent, you are probably well aware of the difficulties of making sure your kids are playing age appropriate videogames both while at home and at friends’ homes. Until recently there were quite a few song and dances involved in finding the Entertainment Software Rating Board’s (ESRB) age recommendations on video game titles, along with descriptions of why the game got the rating that it did. Alright, so it wasn’t really all that hard to check up on video games. All you had to do was hit up the Internet, but if your kids are as smart as I think they are, they’re probably spying on you spying on them.

But, fret no longer, the ESRB has released a free iPhone application that lets you search by game title, while narrowing down your platforms of choice, to get information on the game and its ratings.

As of now, you can prepare your narcing adventures in private, without letting the kids know you’re being lame and researching the ratings of their favorite video games.
