Checkmate: iOS tops Android by 116% in Europe

Check out the numbers abroad, they say. Look at global market share, they say. Android is the king of the world. Except it’s not. According to comScore iOS has outsold Android by 116% in Europe.

Simply put, iOS has 28.9 million users in Europe and Android has 13.4 million. Not too shabby when you take into account that Apple has iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad on the market and Android has a small army of devices. Checkmate.

Oh, wait, Fandroid users want us to look at the numbers at home instead, since it’s more convenient? Fine, Apple’s iOS has a 59 percent lead over Google’s Android.

Is there such a thing as double-checkmate? Cause I think Apple just did it.
