Apple has officially implemented a system for accredited schools to buy applications in bulk at a discounted price, and then give them to their students. With this program, app developers can now assign a discount to their application if purchased in a bulk order.
Quite seriously, I can see this making a big difference in schools. I believe it is always a good idea from developers to make their products more easily available for eduction purposes. Not only does it benefit the schools and the students, but the developer gets a population of users who are familiar with his or her software.
