The cold war between Apple and activist shareholder Carl Icahn ended last week, as the latter dropped his motion for a $50 Billion stock buyback. While that was one win, Apple lost the motion trying to halt their Antitrust monitor from forcing interviews with top executives. In other compliance news, Apple released its annual Supplier Responsibility Report. Among the news was that Apple could certify its sources of Tantalum to be conflict-free. A report was also released this week, that showed the sheer scale of R&D spending at Apple. The iPad got some big compliments this week when battery tests showed the iPad Air had the best battery life among tablets.
