People Of Walmart Now Responsible For 11 Percent Of iPad Sales

A new report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners has indicated that Walmart is responsible for 11 percent of all iPad sales in the month of Februrary. If we consider for a moment that Apple just announced that the iPad sold 11.8 million iPads during the March quarter of 2012, that puts Walmart at selling approximately 1.3 million Apple tablets.

From Business Insider:

As it turns out, to say that Wal-Mart is increasingly substantial for iPad sales may be an understatement. A new report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, a market research firm, finds that Wal-Mart now accounts for more than a tenth of all iPad sales. By comparison, Apple’s website and stores account for 26% of iPad sales.

The numbers place Walmart in the third position behind Apple and Best Buy for total iPad sales in the month of February. Sorry hipster barista types, but you’re now in the company of those fine people of Walmart.
