Apple turns 35

Everyone’s favorite computer company turns 35 today.

On April 1st, 1976, Apple Computer was established as a company by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.

Wayne is a mysterious figure in the history of Apple. Wayne drew the first Apple logo (over there on the left), and received a 10% stake in Apple but relinquished his stock for $800 less than two weeks later, on April 12, 1976. Wayne had been involved in a startup that failed a few years before Apple began, and appeared to have cold feet about Apple after signing the incorporation paperwork.
