Finally a free iPad alternative for Facebook: Friendly goes free

Zuckerburg might not classify the iPad as a mobile device even though it has 3G capabilities, but a lot of people think they should be focusing some energy on bringing an iPad edition of their “mobile” iOS application to the iPad.  Maybe they think that the mobile version of Facebook is enough for the iPad. Who knows? At least 500,000 users disagree with Facebook, and instead of using the web application, they rely on Oecoway’s Friendly application as their primary Facebook application on the iPad.

In addition to an ad-free model for $0.99, Friendly has just announced that they now have a free version of their application on the App Store, and that they made this move to increase their install base. The great thing about Friendly is that you can customize the look and feel of Facebook while maintaining that native application feel at the same time—Friendly lets you change the fonts and color scheme of Facebook in their application.

If you can’t stomach using Facebook in your browser, then you’re going to want to give the free version of Friendly a try. But, if you love it, support the developer and drop the dollar for the ad-free model.

You can download the free version or the ad-free version on the App Store.
