2011 12 29 16 10 32 GridLens: A new multi imaging iPhoneography app

GridLens by Bucketlabs.net is a new photography iPhone app. Currently on sale for $0.99, this is one iPhoneography app you don’t want to miss. What makes yet another photography app so special? GridLens allows you to do things with your iPhone camera that you can’t do with other apps. At first, I thought it was another app for importing pictures into a frame. But that’s not at all the idea behind GridLens. Instead, the app allows you to take multiple shots from within a frame, either manually or automatically.

inecklace The iNecklace Is a geek girls best friend

The iNecklace

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but some girls are geeks. And all geek girls know that diamonds are nothing more than heat-pressurized carbon. Boring. What makes our hearts go all aflutter is jewelry that is technified and unabashedly geeky. And ladies, do I have just the piece for you: the iNecklace by Adafruit.

The iNecklace looks just like the on button on your Macbook, Macbook Pro, or iMac. It’s made of aluminum that feels cold and techy against your chest. It’s strung on a strong sterling silver chain. And, the best part: it lights up. (more…)

2011 09 09 15 17 21 iTeacherBook: Finally! An academic planner for educators!

iTeacherBook

iTeacherBook ($4.99) is by the makers of iStudiezPro. If you’ve used any of the iStudiez suite of applications, you know how amazing they are for students who need to keep track of busy schedules, assignments, and tests. But iTeacherBook is created for educators. It offers the same sophistication and ease of use found in the iStudiezPro suite, but has features that are specifically for managing the classroom. I have to say, when I first saw the announcement that iTeacherBook was available I nearly jumped out of my chair with joy and spilled my coffee. iStudiez is great for students, and although teachers can use it, iStudiez just doesn’t have educator-oriented features. With iTeacherBook, educators now have a planning tool that incorporates all the bells and whistles of iStudiez, but also includes grade keeping, attendance, student profile information, assignment notifications, and more. This professor is doing a happy dance. (more…)

Once the flood was over, God promised never to use a flood to destroy all creation again. God placed a rainbow in the clouds as a reminder that this promise must be kept. Obviously, even divine beings need reminders not to obliterate creation on a whim.

NotifyMe for Mac

Those of us who aren’t divine need even more help remembering promises and obligations. And here’s where NotifyMe for Mac ($15.99) by PoweryBase comes in. Cloud based (thus the rainbow analogy above–get it? get it?), NotifyMe for Mac provides a desktop reminder system that can sync to all your iOS devices. (more…)
