Confirmed: Apple To Open First Brazil Retail Store In Rio De Janeiro

It was speculated earlier this week that Apple would be opening new retail stores for the first time in Brazil and Turkey because of job postings that appeared on Apple’s career page. Apple has officially confirmed to the Brazilian press that it will soon be opening a retail store in Rio de Janeiro, according to 9to5Mac, and another retail store in Istanbul, Turkey.

In an email statement to the Brazilian press, Apple said:

“We look forward to the opening of the first Apple Store in Brazil, where we already have long standing customers and hope to win many more each day. We can not wait to offer the unique Apple retail experience to Rio de Janeiro’s people and customers from across the region.”

Apple has not yet revealed the actual location of the store, or the official date that it would open, but it could likely happen in the next quarter. When Apple released its annual report last October, the company revealed expectations to open 30-35 new stores in 2013, with 75 percent of those locations outside of the U.S., so chances are high that Apple will get moving on these stores soon.
