Apple Is Donating $2.5 Million To Ongoing Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

The devastating consequences of Hurricane Sandy are still affecting people where the storm hit, and relief efforts have been ongoing for the past week. Tim Cook sent an email to Apple employees telling them that on behalf of all employees, Apple is donating $2.5 million to the Red Cross to help with the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Previously, Apple set up a page to accept donations on behalf of the Red Cross. In the letter, Tim Cook also notes that they’ve already collected millions from both Apple customers and employees. With Tim Cook at the helm, Apple has increased its generosity and charitable giving and this donation to the Red Cross is just the latest example.
