Verizon Limiting Vacation During Supposed iPhone Launch

Vacation

Everyone under the sun is expecting a new iPhone in the coming weeks — that’s in no way controversial. Interestingly, Jordan Crook, reporting for TechCrunch, has some interesting news on the Verizon tip: “A trusted Verizon employee has just confirmed to TechCrunch that the carrier is having an all-staff vacation blackout from the dates of Friday, September 21 to September 30.” Considering we’ve been hearing in the rumor mill that September 12th is the day of the announcement, this time frame does make sense.

Let’s keep in mind that this news hasn’t been verified by Verizon publicly, and it certainly hasn’t been verified by Apple. It’s completely possible that this is wrong, but it does certainly fit with the information we have seen up to this point. Just remember that until it is on Apple.com, anything could change. This is exciting news, but let’s not start frothing just yet. Let’s see if we hear of Apple doing something similar.

Do you think this news of a vacation blackout from Verizon means that the iPhone will come out during that time, or is this just a coincidence? Take a moment to leave a comment below this post, or just hit us up on Twitter. Our username is @macgasm, and we love to hear from readers. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for any more evidence pointing to an iPhone release.
