Skype App For iOS Adds Much-Requested Photo Sharing And Improved Performance

The Skype app for iPhone and iPad has gotten an update today. For all those who have been asking for photo sharing, your prayers were heard as photo sharing is now available on both iOS apps. So images that were taken with your iPad or iPhone (or any image from your photo library) can be sent directly to friends or family members through the Skype app. There’s no size limit so you can send photos without reaching email size limits or paying MMS charges.

In addition to this, the Skype blog has also announced that improvements have been made to the overall performance of the apps. They are less battery hungry when running in the background, so you can answer Skype calls throughout the day without your phone dying.

The new Skype app update for iPad supports any version of the iPad, while the Skype update for iPhone supports the iPhone 3G/3GS and iPhone 4/4S, as well as the 2nd and 3rd generation iPod touch.
