Chomp acquired by Apple. App Store revamp soon?

As we all know, there is a massive amount of applications on the App Store, making it pretty difficult to sort through it with any sort of efficiency. Now, that is all about to change. Apple has reportedly acquired the app search and discovery platform, Chomp. While the details aren’t known yet, the investors are reportedly very happy with the outcome.

This acquisition could be great news for consumers if Apple purchased the company for its technology as well as its talent. Searching and discovering throughout the App Store will become significantly easier if this ends up being the case, and the company is integrated into Apple’s system.

Having been a longtime user of Chomp, I must say this news is extremely exciting, and it should help some of the lesser-known developers get their apps noticed.

Chomp helps users search for and discover new apps not only by name, but also by topic and by app function. It's great to know that Apple have acquired the Chomp.
