Rumor: Even newerish, bigger MacBook Air on the docket for Apple

New MacBook Air Update ComingThe MacBook Air is scheduled to get another refresh, as well as an additional family member sometime during the first quarter of 2012 according to Digitimes and their sources.

The sources noted that related upstream players have already started pilot production of the MacBook Air models and will add a 15-inch model into the product line to expand its reach in the ultra-thin notebook market.

The only real thing of note here is that there may be a 15-inch model of the MacBook Air. Up until this point it was unknown if the device would be an Air or a MacBook Pro. Keeping in mind that this is just a rumor, it sounds like Apple may be introducing the new 15-inch laptop as an Air.

Digitimes also offers up a bizarre quote about pricing in Europe. It’s almost like they’re suggesting that the holiday sales prices are an attempt at selling off the current Air stock. So, take that for what it’s worth, which is probably not that much.
