Apps of the Week: Fab, Alarm Clock HD, Pixelmator

It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to take a look at some awesome apps for each platform: iPhone, iPad, and Mac OS. Today, we’re focusing on online shopping, keeping track of time, and photo editing.

Ready? Let’s begin.

iPhone/iPod touch:

Apps of the Week: Fab, Alarm Clock HD, PixelmatorFab: The Fab app is fabulous. It’s the official app of Fab.com (also available on iPad). The site features daily design inspirations and sales at up to 70 percent off of retail price, not to mention awesome stuff that you won’t find anywhere else. Of course, the community is invite only (but I have a few invites). This app makes shopping even easier on the go. Have an account? Download this and give it a spin.

iPad:

Apps of the Week: Fab, Alarm Clock HD, PixelmatorAlarm Clock HD: I don’t know about you, but if my iPad could display a sexy looking clock at night, I’d get rid of the pesky CD player/radio/alarm/clock wannabe next to my bed. Wait a minute, my iPad can with this app. You select the color, you select the content that displays below (Google Reader RSS, Twitter, and Facebook updates), and you set the perfect alarm. Try it out! You might not getter a better sleep, but you’ll have something prettier on your nightstand.

Mac OS:

Pixelmator: This app was awesome from the start, but with its recent v2.0 upgrade, it’s a Photoshop killer. If you love touching up images or even doing more advanced stuff like creating visual effects, etc., Pixelmator is good enough. In fact, it’s more than enough when priced at only $30 bucks! Read our post to find out more.

A bit dangerous to compare Pixelmator to Photoshop so directly. But it nevertheless gives people a good start into the image editing world. The Pixelmator tutors at http://pixelmatortutorials.net have already made a 20 minute overview video of Pixelmator 2 and you'll notice they have a huge archive of hundreds of Pixelmator tutorials for you to get started with image editing and learning Pixelmator.

Alarm Clock HD!@Gamrcobe:disqus it is so beatiful at night!

Jared, enjoyed the post! As a member of the Pixelmator community I'd like to mention our new site we started for free Pixelmator resources and tutorials: http://www.pxm-tuts.com/

Thanks for the Fab invite! I'm really digging this site.
