Tip: Rename your files quickly

It took me a while to figure out that the best way to rename a file isn’t right clicking and then selecting “Get Info” for the file, then renaming the file. I’ve struggled with a bunch of different ways to get the job done.

Turns out you just have to select the file you want to rename (using a mouse or keyboard), then hit the return key. You’ll immediately be able to rename the file. I know it sounds simple enough that everyone should know how to do this, but coming from a Windows background where hitting the return key opens up a file, it’s usually the last thing we’d think to try.
