Pro Tip: Clear the “Open With” menu

If you’re like me, when you right-click on an item to open it in Finder, your menu looks like something like this:

In the above example, OS X tries to give me about a dozen options to open a simple .png file. It’s always driven me crazy, especially since some of those apps are no longer installed.

Thankfully, the guys over at OS X Daily have posted a little guide on how to minimize this menu madness. It involves renaming a .plist file, but its nothing too tricky. Be sure to go check it out.
