Sanyo Rechargeable Batteries get Rebranded by Apple with a Hefty Price Tag

If you’re thinking about buying Apple’s Rechargeable Batteries, you should think again. It turns out that Apple is merely rebranding a battery that has been out on the market for a while now, and supposedly has a good record.

9 to 5 Mac points out that you can buy four Sanyo batteries and a charger for less than a third of Apple’s $29.99 price tag. That is a pretty big markup just to have an Apple logo on your charger.

If you want to see the break down of the batteries themselves, take a look at SuperApple.cz (Google Translation). Frankly, it always spooks me a little bit to see batteries being sliced open.

What do you think about this information? Is it bad for Apple to try to make more money if they can get it? Do you think what they’re doing is dishonest? Take a moment to leave a comment on this post, tweet me, or e-mail me your thoughts.
