News Roundup 7/14: Another Five Nights At Freddy’s, Apple Takes All The Money, iTunes Gets An Update

Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 Gets Jumpy Release

I had written a comprehensive review of the first three Five Nights At Freddy’s games in April. The next installment in the game has already garnered a lot of buzz, and was was originally slated for a Halloween release. As reported on App Advice, the game has been pushed up to August 8th to celebrate the one year anniversary of the original. Horror fans can still expect some Halloween goodies when the game will get a free update with additional content.

Apple makes ALL THE MONIES!

Apple is officially making stupid money from the iPhone. Though there are some companies losing money in smartphones pushing the total profit over 100 %, Apple is now making 92 % of the profits in the smartphone market. This is roughly 70 % of their total revenue as a company. Their closes competitor, Samsung, comes in with 15 %. Ars Technica reports that most of the growth in profit comes from Apple’s expansion into China and other Asian markets. Maybe they can take a bit of a hit on the margin and give the cheap iPhone more than 16 GB?

iTunes 12.2.1 is released with fixes for Apple Music.

Apple has released an update to iTunes to address some issues with Apple Music. According to Mac Observer, the main fix is to prevent the issue where tracks you own were given Apple Music’s DRM. They also note that there are still some issues with bad metadata being applied to your tracks. There are also some fixes to Beats 1 radio as well, so fire up the App Store and update your Mac.
