Loren Brichter leaves, no longer working for Twitter

Well, we didn’t see this one coming. Loren Brichter, founder of Atebits and developer of Tweetie, has quit his job at Twitter. Twitter purchased Atebits in April of 2010 and immediately put Brichter in charge of developing Twitter’s official iPhone and iPad application.

According to a Tweet from Brichter:

Today was my last day at Twitter. Taking some time to figure out what’s next. Really proud of the way the team has grown.

There’s no word on why he quit, and the tone of his tweet clearly indicates that things have ended on good terms. We’re hoping he finds his way back into iOS development sometime soon.
