Light Peak gets demoed

If you’re hoping to get 10GBit/s transfer speeds to multiple devices, then you’ve probably been keeping your eyes on Intel’s Light Peak technology. With rumours of speeds hitting upwards of 100Gbit/s you’re probably not alone in wishing this technology was already around.

Rumors have been kicking around the internet for a while now that Apple has Light Peak technology in the works for upcoming Macs in the near future.

Intel took an opportunity to show off the device in Brussels today during their European research showcase. The demonstration showed one cable transferring two different HD Video to two distinct monitors. You know what that means? Good-bye rats nest behind my desk!

In all honesty, there’s a lot more to be excited about outside of eliminating rats nests around the world.
