iPhone 5 concept introduces the idea of squeeze based home button

There are a lot of great iPhone concepts on the Internet, and some obviously fall very short, but this new concept, originally posted by AppAdvice reader Kris Groen, and available on YouTube, does something that we haven’t seen yet in any other concept — it introduces the squeeze gesture.

Instead of making use of a home button, the user could just tap or squeeze either side of the phone to use the home button(s). Why is this neat? Well, your fingers are already placed on the side of the device, so you wouldn’t have to move around much to get to the home button.

I’m not sold on it being the most practical option, but the concept has certainly done a great job in thinking outside of the box and providing some insights on how Apple could eliminate the physical home button while still retaining the home button functionality.
