Great Fonts on the Web: Adobe partners with TypeKit

TypeKit, a subscription-based web font company, announced today that they have partnered with Adobe to provide some great fonts like Myriad, Chaparral, and Bickham Script. For a low yearly price, you can embed some of the best fonts directly on your website to make it exactly how you want it to look.

This is great news for design nerds who obsess over details like which weight of your favorite font you want to use for the footer. Most Mac users have an eye for aesthetics, so this news is very complementary to our usual coverage.

If you’d like to try out the service, they have a limited trial version that you can use for no cost. They also have different packages ranging from $25 all the way up to $100 per year. They’re doing some pretty interesting stuff, so be sure to take a look.

What do you think about have so many fonts available for the web these days? Are you worried people will start abusing this privilege by overusing or misusing them? Let us know by sounding off in the comment section of this post.
