Google Search App Gets Big Update On iOS, Brings Hands-Free Voice Control

If you often find yourself doing Google searches on your phone, today’s new update for Google Search on iOS has some great improvements for you.

One major improvement in version 3.1 is the addition of hands-free voice control. Whenever you have the app open, you can now simply say “OK Google” and your phone will instantly be ready for a voice command. It’s really quite impressive how fast you can now search for something using only your voice.

Google has added some new cards to its app, bringing support for public transit info, rental cars, flight information and more. The app has also been updated with support for notifications and its own reminders system, so if you regret not going with Android, this app should give you that healthy Google fix you seek. The app also got some UI changes and a more simplified homepage.

I personally think Google Search is one of the fastest and slickest apps on iOS, so if you haven’t given it a shot, you should definitely try it out.
