Google Places For Business App Lands On iOS

Google has released an iOS version of Google Places for Business. This application was released into the App Store on April 21st, 2013, and lets businesses manage their Google listings. For instance, business owners can update their business’s hours, address, contact info and description directly from the app. They can also track web traffic going to their business’s Google listing and post photos to their business’s Google+ page. Finally, the app can be used to complete verification of the business on Google.

The app’s interface looks similar to that of the Google Drive and Google Earth iPhone application. The application features low-key UI elements and dark colors. However, unlike these applications, the Google Places for Business app is for business owners, not the consumer.

If you’re an average Google Places user, you’ll want to download the Google+ Local app. This application allows you to view reviews, hours and other information on local shops, restaurants and other attractions. Like the Google Places for Business app, the Google+ Local app is available via the App Store free of charge.
