Flipboard Makes Its Way To The Web For The First Time, Brings New “Big Ideas” Category

Most people know Flipboard as the mobile device-only app that essentially lets you create your own magazines with content you’re interested in. Now Flipboard has made its way to our desktops for the first time, allowing users to Flipboard magazines on the web from any device, mobile or not, as long as you have an Internet connection.

Millions of Flipboard magazines have been curated by Flipboard users and now, when they’re shared, others can enjoy them right from their desktop computer.

The web service lets users with Flipboard accounts subscribe to magazines curated by others and flip through them right from their browser. Curated magazines can include topics like music, technology, and vintage motorcycles, all of which can be shared with friends as you discover new stuff.

Along with the new web edition, the company is also introducing a new “Big Ideas” category in the Content Guide, which “celebrates innovative ideas, great speeches, industry thought leaders and inspirational organizations.”

The web edition supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE9+ in eleven different languages. If you’re a fan of Flipboard, you should definitely check out the new web edition.
