Fake accounts getting axed on Ping

Spammers, they’ll do anything for a click through, and sadly Apple’s Ping isn’t out of their grasps. They’ve been spamming, and spamming, and spamming some more on the network. It’s starting to get a little bit out of hand.

In addition to these spammers, there’s also those who are registering fake accounts for celebrities, in an attempt to get some attention. Up until recently we were a little bit suspect about the Steve Jobs, Johnny Ive, and Steve Wozniak accounts. Turns out Apple is as well, they’ve all disappeared from Ping, and Apple’s moderating the user accounts for fakes, and then taking them down.

Thanks to Alex Iaco for sending in the tip.
