Facebook Recruiting Android Users To Help Beta Test Upcoming App Updates

Facebook has announced that it will be opening up a new beta version of its Android app to let users try out early versions of upcoming app updates. The beta app will help Facebook squash bugs and to find what features are most popular.

The “Facebook For Android Beta Program” will be accessible to anyone that wants it, just after they follow a few simple steps:

* Signup to become a member of the Facebook For Android Beta Testers Group
* Opt in to Google’s beta testing system policies
* Download the beta app, use it normally, and use the bug reporting option to send feedback directly to Facebook
* Join the Facebook Group for beta testers to pass feedback back and forth (optional but strongly recommended

After doing that, you’ll be able to try out pre-release versions of Facebook’s app before anyone else gets access to it.

Facebook product manager Ragavan Srinivasan says the company is doing it to “give people early access to versions of Facebook we’re planning on shipping, and get feedback from real-world users to improve our products before shipping to all our users.”
