As more and more mobile games have shifted to free-to-play titles fueled by microtransactions, so have EA’s sports titles. The newest sports title by EA which you can download right now for free is FIFA 14.
The change in pricing is a big shift for the series, seeing as FIFA 13 launched on iOS last year as a $6.99 download. Instead, EA has decided to focus on in-app purchases this time around in order to try and make its money.
The game iterates on last year’s version with some minor improvements, including new touch controls and the Football Club Match Day feature from consoles. EA even adds a warning on how good the game is in its description:
** This is a highly detailed game of superior quality. Please make sure you have at least 1.35GB of free space on your device. **
