Well, that didn’t exactly take very long, did it? The iPhone Dev-Team has already updated its Redsn0w jailbreak tool to include a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.
The jailbreak, while only available for non-A5 devices, meaning not iPhone 4S and iPad 2 just yet, will let you jailbreak by keeping your device connected to a computer to boot. Normally we recommend waiting to upgrade iOS until an untethered jailbreak solution appears, but if you absolutely have to have all of that iOS 5.1 jailbreak goodness immediately, you certainly have an option right now.
