Bertrand Serlet Joins The Parallels Board Of Directors

Parallels

Bertrand Serlet, former Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at Apple, has an interesting new gig. He is joining the board of directors of Parallels — the virtualization company best known for helping you run Windows on your Mac.

Arik Hesseldahl, AllThingsD:

Serlet, who is often called the father of Mac OS X, worked at Apple for 14 years. At Parallels he will be a non-executive director. In a statement, Parallels CEO Birger Steen called him “the rare combination of a software visionary and master of execution.”

Serlet has received near universal praise for his work during his time at Apple, so this is a very interesting move for a business that is firmly rooted in software. His expertise in software at such a large company will likely prove extremely useful in guiding Parallels into the future.

If you can get former top executives at Apple to join your company, much like Ron Johnson at J.C. Penny, you probably want to pull that trigger. If you could have any one current or former employee at Apple work for your company, who would it be? Tim Cook? Scott Forstall? It’s a tough call — Apple has so many well-respected employees. Let us know who you’d want working for your company by leaving a message underneath this post.
