Apple’s done some funky things with their Apple remotes in the past. For a time, they were included with MacBooks and Mac minis, then they weren’t, instead being sold separately for a while. Finally they included the white remote in the Universal Dock . Today, Apple’s updated their Universal Dock again, and it now includes the aluminum remote.
That lovely aluminum Apple TV remote has now been included with the universal dock connector. It’s a couple months late, but it’s better late than never. But, what product update would be complete without a little price increase. The new Universal Dock will set you back an extra $10.00 (up from $49.00 to $59.00). But, the price is offset by the addition of the USB power adapter and USB connector cable.
If you’re in the market for any of those things separately, it would probably make sense to purchase the Universal Dock bundle instead.
