Apple Tops Fortune’s ‘World’s Most Admired Companies’ List For Seventh Year Straight

CNN’s annual list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” was released today, showing that for the seventh straight year Apple gets more admiration than anyone else.

The winners were chosen by a collection of industry executives that evaluated the company on nine “attributes of reputation” in order to help reach a conclusion. Apple placed first within the computer industry for almost all of the following categories, except “Social responsibility” in which it received 5th place, and “Global Competitiveness” where it got 2nd:

  • Innovation
  • People management
  • Use of corporate assets
  • Social responsibility
  • Quality of management
  • Financial soundness
  • Long-term investment
  • Quality of products/services
  • Global competitiveness

Coming behind Apple were some other well known companies. Amazon took second place, while Google took third,and Disney took seventh. There were also other companies like Starbucks and Coca-Cola on the list who placed fifth and sixth respectively.

Let’s see if Apple’s products in 2014 can keep the admiration levels up for an eighth straight year.
