Apple Owned HopStop App Gets Updated With Real-Time Delay Reports

While the Windows Phone version of Apple’s recently acquired HopStop app has been removed from existence, the iOS version continues to get better. The app has been updated to include some useful new features, including HopStop Live, a feature that lets users submit information on real-time traffic delays.

You can now report real-time Delays, Crowds, Incidents, Service Changes, Station Closures, Broken Elevators, Suggestions, and Complaints with HopStop Live!

HopStop Live takes cues from other social mapping apps such as Waze that feature crowd sourced information. Users can submit things like where police are stationed and where they just witnessed an accident occur.

Besides HopStop Live, update 2.6 brings another few improvements as well. Here’s the complete list:

– Added support for cities in the UK, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland, and Israel

– You can now report real-time Delays, Crowds, Incidents, Service Changes, Station Closures, Broken Elevators, Suggestions, and Complaints with HopStop Live!

– Save your Home & Work addresses for quick use (visit Settings to add/edit)

– Access your saved ‘My Trips’ directly from the search screen

– New font and updated UI!

– Bug fixes

It’s unclear whether Apple intends to keep updating HopStop, or whether it was simply pushing out an update that was HopStop had finished before being acquired by the company.
