Apple Developer Site Downtime Reaches Record Levels

If you’re an iOS or OS X developer who’s been trying to access Apple’s Dev Center in the past 24 hours, you likely haven’t been too successful. Apple’s resource site for developers has now been down for over a day, reaching record levels of downtime for the service.

While Apple’s Dev Center may have experienced an outage of this length sometime long in the past, typically the site is just down for a couple hours at a time. Developers that spoke with AppleInsider stated that they couldn’t remember the last time the service was down for this length of time.

Upon trying to enter the site, visitors are greeted with the message, “We’ll be back soon. This site is undergoing maintenance for an extended period today. Thanks for your patience.”

The outage prevents developers from accomplishing a number of things, such as being able to submit new apps to the App Store, being able to download development SDKs, being able to authorize devices for app testing and a number of other pains.

Apple has yet to comment on the outage.
