Apple cuts prices on Mac minis in Europe

Those who have been around the industry for a while realize that there’s not an “Apple Tax” on Apple computers. Spec for spec, Apple products already come close to beige box PCs. The MacBook Air recently proved it, and now Apple’s hacking and slashing Mac mini prices all over Europe.

Prices have dropped from €809 to €709 (£649 to £599) in the UK store. As of right now, there have been no changes to prices in the US or Canadian stores. Currently, the Mac mini starts at $699.00 in the US store and $749.00 in the Canadian store.

There has been some speculation that the prices have been altered because of supply chain costs being streamlined for Europe. There’s also been some speculation that the changes are also due to the changes in the dollar values in foreign markets.

We’ll be sure to keep our finger on what’s going on. Hopefully we’ll see some price breaks in the US and Canada. I could really use a new mini to replace my current one.
