Shiny Groove Brings Grooveshark Music In A Mac App

As you might already know, Grooveshark is a great online music streaming service that lets you browse an unlimited amount of music, upload your own music, save and share playlists and discover new songs with the radio. Now with Shiny Groove, you can bring the Grooveshark experience to your Mac.

In its beta right now, Shiny Groove lets you control your music with a sleek mini player, keyboard shortcuts like the next, previous and play/pause keys, or using your Apple remote or iPhone/iPod headphones.

It packs all of the great features of Grooveshark into a neat little corner of your desktop and easily expands when you want to get full access to playlists, search, and other features. You can then minimize the miniplayer when you’re ready to start listening to your tunes.

The app will download and display album artwork and flip the artwork over as the songs change. When you want to hide the miniplayer from your desktop, just grab it with your mouse and give it a shake and it’ll disappear. To bring it back, you just use the menubar icon (this also works to make it disappear).

Shiny Groove is free while it’s still in beta and you can check out all of the cool features on the Shiny Groove website. When it makes it to the online store and Mac App Store, Shiny Groove will be available for $3.99 and requires Mac OS X 10.8 or greater.
