A possible MacBook Air refresh has supplies constrained

Early on Friday we got word that Apple is testing out A5-powered MacBook Airs, but those machines still seem to be a little ways off. Sandy Bridge based MacBook Airs have been rumored to be shipping sometime in June or July of this summer for a while now.

Our friends over at 9to5 Mac have heard from their sources around the globe that MacBook Air supplies have become constrained. They also point out that Best Buy has dropped the price of the latest MacBook Air to $938.99.

All around it looks like a slash and grab program is underway. Refurbished MacBook Airs have also seen diminished prices as Apple cuts prices on their online Apple Store. It’s looking pretty realistic that the new model of the MacBook Air is on its way to stores sooner rather than later.
